No 8 Transport Regiment Commissions John For a Pictorial History(February 12, 2008)
A commission for 8 Transport Regiment of the British Army has recently been completed.
On a 6 by 4 canvas, in acrylic paint a picture highlighting the regiment's role in various areas of the world, while based at Marne Barracks, Catterick Garrison for the last 13 years has been completed.
Areas illustrated include: Afghanistan, Germany, Bosnia, Iraq, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and Oman.
Each area is depicted by a number of related images and the picture's centre features the iconic Richmond Castle to underline the regiment's location at nearby Marne Barracks on Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire.
The painting is to be displayed permanently in the regimental 'Officers Mess', presently at Marne Barracks.
Prints of the painting will be made available for sale subsequently.
